Welsh Reining Horse Association

For some time a number of Western Riders living here in Wales had the idea of starting an organisation specifically to promote our sport within the principality. On Sunday 26th June 2005 that idea became a reality when 12 brave souls met at the Metropole Hotel to discuss the formation of the new Association.

Welsh Reining is now up and running and we have a good strong Council formed of willing volunteers to promote the sport. We promote not just reining but all disciplines of Western with our initial focus on training.

Welsh Reining is not a breakaway group from any other organisation and indeed our Constitution very firmly states we are to work alongside all existing organisations promoting Western Riding and Reining within the UK. The majority of the new Council are also officials of the Western Equestrian Society in one form or another so the two organisations have been working very closely together.
